Dr. Shubhang Aggarwal
Born and brought up at Jalandhar, he went to do his
basic orthopaedic training at Kasturba medical College, Manipal, where he trained in Paediatric
Orthopaedics, Spine surgery, Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty till 2001.
From there, he was selected for training in Joint
Replacement Surgery in the unit of Dr. K.T. Dholakia at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai where he also
acquired his D.N.B. Orth. degree.
After that, he went to Singapore for Intelligent
knee surgery training, following which he was chosen for M.Ch. Orth. degree training at University
of Dundee, Dundee, Scotland, where he trained in Revisions, Small joint replacement surgery and
Shoulder and Ankle replacement in 2006.
He was awarded the external examine’s award for
academic excellence in scientific communication.
He also trained in Hip Resurfacing with Derek McMinn
himself (the inventor of hip resurfacing) at Nuffield Hospital, Birmingham, U.K. and with Prof.
Barrett in Computer Assisted Knee replacement at Southampton.
He was certified trained in Computer assisted joint
replacement training – the only surgeon in North India - at St. Vincent’s centre, Melbourne,
Australia in 2007.
He is one of the 200 M.Ch. Orth surgeons trained in
U.K. practicing in India and the only one in Doaba.
Besides being a member of various Indian Forums, he
is an International member of the prestigious American Academy of Orthopaedic surgeons and the
International Society for Computer assisted Orthopaedic Surgery in Europe.
He is running Joint replacement centre at Satyam
Hospital, Jalandhar where he is performing routinely Primary and revision joint replacement
surgeries.
He does free polio surgery and conducts free
screening camps all over the state and has delivered lectures and presented papers in numerous
academic meetings.
